Darren Powell BFP FCA – Director
Darren has been involved with the practice since 2003 and after a period working elsewhere, he returned to the firm in 2016. Darren is a Chartered Accountant and qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 2010. Darren is the main contact for our corporate clients and has a keen interest in the digital transformation of the tax system.
Since making the first ever income-tax submission under the making tax digital pilot back in 2017, Darren is still involved as a volunteer and sits on the ICAEW’s Tax Faculty Practitioner Tax Committee. Prior to this he formed part of the MTD working party of the ICAEW’s tax faculty.
Outside of work, you will most likely see Darren out in the countryside with his family and two dogs. His interests include shooting, hiking and boxing.
Stuart Fraser IFA – Founder
Stuart originally started the business in 1988 after working in varied roles including farming, banking and accountancy. Stuart has a wealth of experience in all areas of practice with an enviable ability of seeing the bigger picture. This attribute is invaluable to help business owners grow their business and maximise their potential. Sometimes it is not all about crunching numbers!
Stuart has a keen interest in motorbikes and his smallholding. When he is not looking after his animals, he is most likely practicing his singing skills or spending time with his grandchildren.
Sally Fraser – Practice manager
Sally has been with the business since the very beginning and continues to help manage the administration of the practice. Sally helps to co-ordinate everything from workflow and deadlines to compliance and HR.
Lynn Race – Payroll and VAT administrator
Lynn has been involved with the practice for over 20 years and provides payroll, VAT and book-keeping services to both our clients and her own. Lynn is an integral part of the team and nothing is too much trouble and we are sure our clients will agree.
William Shortman – Trainee Accounts technician
William joined the practice in 2024 and is currently studying towards his AAT level 2 exam in accounting. His work includes the preparation of accounts and VAT returns and general office admin. William is off to a bright start and is already excelling in many areas. His ambition is to become a Chartered Accountant.
Outside of work, William enjoys walking his dogs, cooking and spending time with his family.
Gabriel Alves Da Silva – Trainee work placement
Gabriel also joined the practice in 2024 and is currently studying towards his T Levels in Business, Management & Administration. Upon completion in the summer of 2025, Gabriel will be joining us as an apprentice and will study towards the AAT qualification. His work includes the preparation of accounts and general office admin. Gabriel will complete our younger brood of talent and help bring in new ideas and technology.
Outside of work, Gabriel enjoys spending time with his friends and skateboarding.
